An electronic control gear for a HID lamp receives an input signal for operating the lamp and frequency modulates the input signal to generate a frequency modulated output signal that drives an arc of the lamp. The frequency modulation of the output signal sweeps continuously between a low frequency modulation and a high frequency modulation, the low frequency modulation being a frequency f1 in a range of 125kHz to 150kHz and the high frequency modulation being a frequency f2 in a range of 230kHz to 300kHz, where f2 - f1 is at least 0.4 * f1. A power amplifier changes an amplitude of the frequency modulated output signal during the low frequency modulations so that a current amplitude of the frequency modulated output signal is substantially constant, and a variable gain transformer adjusts a voltage of the frequency modulated output signal during starting of the lamp.
L'invention concerne un équipement de commande électronique pour une lampe à décharge à haute intensité (HID). Cet équipement reçoit un signal d'entrée permettant d'actionner la lampe, et module ce signal d'entrée en fréquence de manière à générer un signal de sortie modulé en fréquence, lequel active la formation d'un arc dans la lampe. La modulation en fréquence du signal de sortie oscille continuellement entre une modulation basse fréquence et une modulation haute fréquence, la modulation basse fréquence étant une fréquence (f1) comprise dans un intervalle de 125kHz à 150kHz, et la modulation haute fréquence étant une fréquence (f2) comprise dans un intervalle de 230kHz à 300kHz, f2 - f1 étant au moins égal à 0,4 * f1. Un amplificateur de puissance modifie l'amplitude du signal de sortie modulé en fréquence au cours des modulations basse fréquence de telle manière que l'amplitude en courant du signal de sortie modulé en fréquence est sensiblement constante, et un transformateur à gain variable règle la tension du signal de sortie modulé en fréquence au cours du démarrage de la lampe.
