A high performance double layer capacitor having an electric double layer formed in the interface between activated carbon and an electrolyte is disclosed. The high performance double layer capacitor includes a pair of aluminum impregnated carbon composite electrodes having an evenly distributed and continuous path of aluminum impregnated within an activated carbon fiber preform saturated with a high performance electrolytic solution. The high performance double layer capacitor is capable of delivering at least 5 Wh/kg of useful energy at power ratings of at least 600 W/kg.
Cette invention se rapporte à un condensateur bicouche à hautes performances, comportant une double couche électrique formée à l'interface entre du carbone activé et un électrolyte. Ce condensateur bicouche à hautes performances comprend une paire d'électrodes composites en carbone imprégné d'aluminium, qui présentent une bande continue et uniformément répartie en aluminium imprégné d'une préforme en fibre de carbone activé, laquelle est saturée avec une solution électrolytique à hautes performances. Ce condensateur bicouche à hautes performances est capable de produire une énergie utile d'au moins 5 Wh/kg à des puissances nominales d'au moins 600 W/kg.
