A system and method for presenting a plurality of items to a user with a contextual display. A computer system is provided which includes a data store. At least a portion of the items in the data store include one or more field entries. An explorer interacts with the data store, selects items having one or more desired field entries, and displays the selected items according to an explorer display schema. An application may select the items from the data store and may interact with a shell browser to present the selected items. A method for establishing an explorer for presenting items in a data store to a user.
L'invention porte sur un système et un procédé qui permettent de présenter une pluralité d'articles à un utilisateur avec un affichage contextuel. L'invention fait appel à un système informatique comprenant un environnement de stockage de données. Au moins une partie des articles dans l'environnement de stockage de données comprennent une ou plusieurs entrées de champ. Un explorateur interagit avec l'environnement de stockage de données, choisit les articles comprenant une ou plusieurs entrées de champ désirées, et affiche les articles choisis conformément à un schéma d'affichage d'explorateur. Une application peut choisir les articles dans l'environnement de stockage de données et peut interagir avec un navigateur = shell browser = pour présenter les articles choisis. L'invention concerne également un procédé qui permet d'établir un explorateur afin de présenter à un utilisateur des articles dans un environnement de stockage de données.
