The present invention concerns a superconducting fault current limiter (1 ) comprising a rectifier bridge (2) made of active devices (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) connected to a circuit that is to be protected, said rectifier bridge (2) comprising four branches connected by means of four nodes (4, 5, 6, 7), wherein a first node (4) and a second node(5), not adjacent to said first node (4), are connected to said circuit that is to be protected (12, 13), characterized in that it comprises a central branch (8) connected from the third node (6) to the fourth node (7) of said rectifier bridge (2), comprising or consisting of at least one circuit element comprising an inductive component, whose aim is to reduce the amplitude of the ripple of the current through said central branch (8), and a nonlinear superconducting resistive component, having: - a first operating condition, wherein the current through said central branch (8) does not exceed a given threshold value, so that said at least one circuit element, comprising a nonlinear superconducting resistive component, is in the super-conducting state; and - a second operating condition, wherein the current through said central branch (8) exceeds a given threshold value, so that said at least one circuit part, comprising a nonlinear superconducting resistive component, is in the non-

La présente invention concerne un limiteur supraconducteur de courant de défaut (1) comportant un pont redresseur (2) constitué de dispositifs actifs (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) connecté au circuit devant être protégé, ledit pont redresseur (2) comprenant quatre branches connectées au moyen de quatre nuds (4, 5, 6, 7), dont un premier nud (4) et un second nud (5), non adjacent au dit premier nud (4),  sont connectés au circuit devant être protégé. Linvention se caractérise en ce quelle comporte une branche centrale (8) connectée depuis troisième nud (6) jusquau quatrième nud (7) du pont redresseur (2), comportant ou constitué dau moins un élément de circuit comprenant un composant inductif, destiné à réduire lamplitude de la fluctuation du courant à travers ladite branche centrale (8), et un composant résistif supraconducteur non linéaire, présentant : un premier état de fonctionnement, selon lequel le courant traversant ladite branche centrale (8) ne dépasse pas une valeur seuil donnée, de sorte que ledit un élément de circuit, comportant un composant résistif supraconducteur non linéaire, se trouve dans létat supraconducteur ; et un second état de fonctionnement, selon lequel le courant traversant ladite branche centrale (8) dépasse une valeur seuil donnée, de sorte que ledit un élément de circuit comportant un composant résistif supraconducteur non linéaire, ne se trouve pas dans létat supraconducteur, assurant ainsi un comportement résistif.
