A cranial flap clamp includes a first clamping member, an extension member, and a second clamping member. At least a portion of the inner surface of the first clamping member is positionable against inferior surfaces of a bone flap and skull and at least a portion of the inner surface of the second clamping member is positionable against superior surfaces of the bone flap and skull. The extension member extends from the first clamping member and fits between the bone flap and skull. The second clamping member has a through opening for receiving the extension member. A stop provided by mechanical deformation for which an instrument is disclosed of the extension member at any location along its length and adjacent the outer surface of the second clamping member secures the clamping member against the bone flap and skull.
