A process is provided for making filled mineral fibre products which comprises applying mineral melt to a rotating fiberising rotor and thereby throwing from the rotor as fibres and forming a substantially annular cloud of the fibres, spraying binder into the annular cloud of fibres, carrying the fibres axially from the rotor towards a collector surface and collecting the fibres on the collector surface as a web and the process includes spraying into the substantially annular cloud a slurry which has specific gravity at least 1.1, preferably at least 1.2, and which comprises a substantially stable liquid dispersion of a particulate material in an aqueous binder.
On décrit un procédé de fabrication de produits à base de fibres minérales garnies, lequel consiste à appliquer une matière minérale en fusion sur un rotor de défibrage, puis à éjecter à partir du rotor cette matière sous forme de fibres, à former un nuage sensiblement annulaire de ces fibres, à vaporiser un liant dans le nuage annulaire de fibres, à transporter les fibres axialement à partir du rotor vers une surface de recueillement et à recueillir celles-ci sur ladite surface sous forme d'une nappe, l'étape de vaporisation consistant à vaporiser dans le nuage sensiblement annulaire une suspension épaisse présentant une gravité spécifique d'au moins 1,1, de préférence au moins 1,2, et comprenant une dispersion liquide sensiblement stable d'un matériau particulaire dans un liant aqueux.
