Super-oxidised water based on hypochlorous acid, such as is obtained by the electrochemical treatment of a saline solution, may be used in the treatment of leg ulcers or other open wounds. Preferably the pH of the super-oxidised water is within the range of 4 to 7 and the water has a redox potential of >950mV. Medicaments based on the super-oxidised water may be in liquid or gel form. The super-oxidised water is able to control the microbial population within the wound and at the same time permit cell proliferation.
L'invention concerne une eau suroxydée à base d'acide hypochloreux obtenue par traitement électrochimique d'une solution saline, par exemple. Cette eau peut être destinée au traitement d'ulcères de jambe ou d'autres blessures ouvertes. Le Ph de cette eau suroxydée se situe de préférence entre 4 et 7, son potentiel d'oxydoréduction étant supérieur à 950mV. Les médicaments à base de cette eau suroxydée peuvent se présenter sous forme de gel ou de liquide. Ladite eau suroxydée est capable de limiter la population microbienne dans une blessure tout en permettant la prolifération cellulaire.
