ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Method and apparatus for suppression of pollution in the manufacture of glass fibers by toration, i.e., by the technique in which attenuable material is fiberized by admitting the attenuable material into the zone of interaction of gaseous jets directed transversely into a larger gaseous blast, the material being acted upon in the interaction zone of the jet and blast to produce a highly attenuated fiber. Most of the gases in the region of the toration operation are freed of pollutants and are recirculated.
