Description

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of processing heat-softened glass comprising flowing streams of the glass from orifices in a stream feeder includes the steps of attenuating the glass streams to fibers. Heat is conducted away from the glass streams through metal members adjacent the glass streams. Streams of gas are directed above the metal members for reducing condensation of volatiles from the glass streams on the metal members.
