PRECIS L'invention concerne de nouvelles amino-2,nitro-4, hydroxyalkyl-6 anilines de formule générale (I): Image (I) dans laquelle X désigne un radical alkylène ramifié ou non, comportant 2 à 6 atomes de carbone, pouvant être éven- tuellement substitué par un ou plusieurs radicaux hydroxyle; R1 et R2 désignent indépendamment l'un de l'autre un atome d'hydrogène, un radical alkyle, mono- ou polyhydroxyalkyle ou aminoalkyle dont la fonction amine peut être éventuellement substituée par un radical alkyle ou mono- ou polyhydroxyalkyle, l'atome d'azote pouvant aussi faire partie d'un hétérocycle, les radicaux alkyle comportant 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, et R' désigne un atome d'hydrogène ou un radical alkyle comportant 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, ainsi que leurs sels cosmétiquement acceptables. Les composés selon l'invention sont utiles en teinture de fibres kératiniques, et plus particulièrement des cheveux humains.
