Apparatus and methods for remotely rekeying a cryptographic device (904) are disclosed. A method according to the invention includes associating a preliminary certificate (902) with the device, generating a device certificate associated with the device, determining whether a certificate stored in the device is the preliminary certificate associated with the device, and if the certificate stored in the device is the preliminary certificate associated with the device, then securely loading the device certificate into the device. Apparatus for remotely rekeying a cryptographic device includes a computer readable medium having stored thereon computer executable instructions for performing a method according to the invention.
L'invention concerne un dispositif et des procédés permettant de doter de nouvelles clés un dispositif cryptographique (904). Un procédé de l'invention consiste à associer au dispositif un certificat provisoire (902), à produire un certificat de dispositif, associé au dispositif, à déterminer si un certificat conservé dans le dispositif est le certificat provisoire associé au dispositif, et si tel est le cas, à charger de manière sûre le certificat dans le dispositif. Le dispositif de l'invention, destiné à doter de nouvelles clés un dispositif cryptographique, comprend un support pouvant être lu par un ordinateur et sur lequel sont conservées des instructions pouvant être exécutées par un ordinateur, aux fins d'exécution du procédé de l'invention.
