A drug delivery device for placement in the eye includes a drug core comprising a pharmaceutically active agent, and a holder that holds the drug core. The holder is made of a material impermeable to passage of the active agent and includes an opening for passage of the pharmaceutically agent therethrough to eye tissue. The holder has a suture tab having a suture ring at an end thereof. The suture ring is used to secure the device at an implant site.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'administration de médicament destiné à être placé dans l'oeil et comprenant un noyau de médicament renfermant un agent pharmaceutiquement actif, ainsi qu'un support servant à supporter ce noyau de médicament. Le support est constitué d'une matière imperméable à l'agent actif et comporte une ouverture permettant le passage de cet agent pharmaceutiquement actif vers le tissu oculaire. Ledit support comprend une languette de suture dont une extrémité est pourvue d'un anneau de suture. Cet anneau de suture permet de fixer le dispositif au niveau d'un site d'implantation.
