A fiber-treating agent with which the surface strength of a rubber product, e.g., a rubber belt or tire, is enhanced; glass fibers made with the fiber- treating agent; and the rubber product containing the glass fibers. The fiber- treating agent comprises a dispersion containing a rubber latex and an epoxy resin as dispersed ingredients. Since an epoxy resin excellent not only in strength but in heat resistance and water resistance and a rubber latex having flexibility are used as the two dispersed ingredients in the dispersion, the fiber-treating agent can give glass fibers and rubber products having highly improved durability without undergoing quality decrease even in a severe environment.
L'invention se rapporte à un agent de traitement de fibres qui est utilisé pour améliorer la résistance superficielle d'un produit en caoutchouc, par exemple une courroie en caoutchouc ou un pneu; à des fibres de verre fabriquées avec ledit agent de traitement de fibres; et au produit en caoutchouc contenant les fibres de verre. Cet agent de traitement des fibres de verre comporte une dispersion contenant un latex d'élastomère-caoutchouc et une résine d'époxy en tant qu'ingrédients dispersés. Du fait que les deux ingrédients de la dispersion utilisés sont une résine d'époxy possédant non seulement un excellente résistance mécanique mais également une excellente résistance à la chaleur et à l'eau et un latex d'élastomère-caoutchouc ayant une certaine souplesse, l'agent de traitement des fibres peut permettre de produire des fibres de verre et des produits en caoutchouc présentant une durabilité fortement améliorée sans perte de qualité même dans des conditions d'environnement extrêmes.
