The present invention relates to a new class of G protein-coupled receptor agonist or antagonist, which specifically binds to the receptor protein structural elements, thus altering signal transmission and subsequent physiological effects. Described herein are peptide sequences derived from the G protein-coupled receptor protein, produced by chemical methods as selective inhibitors of signal transduction associated with stimulation of the receptor by its ligand. Such peptides or molecules derived from their primary, secondary or tertiary structures may be used as effective tocolytics for the prevention of premature labor or be used for the treatment of dysmenorrhea.

Cette invention se rapporte à une nouvelle classe d'agonistes ou d'antagonistes du récepteur couplé à la protéine G, qui se fixe spécifiquement aux éléments structurels de la protéine récepteur, modifiant ainsi la transmission du signal et les effets physiologiques qui en résultent. Sont décrites ici des séquences peptidiques dérivées de cette protéine récepteur couplée à la protéine G produite par des procédés chimiques, ainsi que des inhibiteurs sélectifs de la transduction du signal associée à la stimulation du récepteur par son ligand. Ces peptides ou les molécules dérivées de leurs structures primaire, secondaire ou tertiaire peuvent servir de tocolytiques efficaces dans la prévention de l'accouchement prématuré ou être utilisés pour le traitement de la dysménorrhée.
