The invention relates to a method for producing impregnated reinforcing threads made of high-performance fibres, especially glass fibres, carbon fibres and aramide fibres. The threads are impregnated in a polymer dip at a zerotwist or a producertwist of <= 120 twists/m. The impregnated threads are then drawn through a nozzle and are subsequently dried in a first heating zone in a superficial manner, however, are still kept damp in the nucleus. Said threads are then provided with a twist of up to 400 twists/m in a second heating zone and are fixed in said twist by additional heating. Reinforcing threads produced according to the inventive method are characterised by an intimate impregnation with polymers and thus by high stability under load and fatigue strength under reversed bending stresses. Furthermore, the threads have a compact, constant cross-section over the length thereof. Such reinforcing threads are particularly useful for reinforcing driving belts and high-pressure hoses. Woven and non-woven fabrics can be produced from said threads and can be used for reinforcing tyres, conveying belts and the like.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire des fils de renforcement trempés composés de fibres hautement performantes, notamment de fibres de verre, de fibres de carbone et de fibres d'aramide. Ce procédé consiste à tremper les fils dans un bain de polymère à une torsion 0 ou une torsion de protection <= 120 tours/m ; à tirer les fils trempés par une buse ; à sécher superficiellement les fils dans une première zone chaude en les gardant encore humides au coeur; à les doter d'une torsion maximale 400 tours/m dans une deuxième zone chaude et à les fixer dans cette torsion par un nouveau chauffage. Les fils de renforcement produits selon ce procédé sont caractérisés par un trempage intérieur au polymère et donc par une charge admissible élevée et une résistance à la flexion alternée élevée. De plus, ces fils ont une section compacte et constante sur toute leur longueur. De tels fils de renforcement conviennent notamment au renforcement de courroies d'entraînement et de flexibles haute pression. Ces fils permettent de fabriquer des tissés et des non tissés, lesquels peuvent, à leur tour, servir à renforcer des pneumatiques, des bandes transporteuses et équivalent.
