Apparati and methods are provided for the delivery of molecules to a site via a carrier fluid. The apparati include microchip devices whcih have reservoirs containing the molecules for release. The apparati and methods provide for active or passive controlled relase of the molecules. Preferred embodiments include systems for intravenous administration of drugs, wherein drug molecules are released from the microchip devices into a carrier fluid ex vivo, such as a saline solution, forming a drug/saline solution mixture which is then delivered to a patient intravenously.

L'invention concerne un appareil et des procédés permettant de transporter des molécules vers un site par le biais d'un fluide porteur. Ledit appareil comprend des dispositifs à puces dotés de réservoirs contenant les molécules à livrer. L'appareil et les procédés permettent une livraison contrôlée, active ou passive, des molécules. Dans des modes de réalisation préférés, l'invention concerne des systèmes d'administration intraveineuse de médicaments, les molécules desdits médicaments étant libérées des dispositifs à puces dans le fluide porteur ex vivo, par exemple une solution saline, formant un mélange médicament/solution saline administré au patient par voie intraveineuse.
