A bias circuit for a low power, high gain low noise amplifier which defines the bias current in two or more stages simultaneously by the use of negative feedback, by sensing a small potential across a sensing resistor in a circuit configuration in which the amplifier transistors are arranged in series with each other and the sensing resistor for the direct current path, and such that the two or more stages provide independent radio frequency gain stages.
