The present invention provides therapeutic compositions for the prevention and treatment of pathological conditions involving bone and dental tissue. The present invention also provides a method to promote bone repair and/or growth for the treatment of pathological conditions involving bone tissue, for example, osteoporosis, Paget's disease, osteopetrosis, and periodontal disease and fracture rapair, and healing of bone defects by administering FGF-1 to an animal or human in need of said treatment.

La présente invention concerne également une méthode permettant de favoriser la consolidation et/ou la croissance osseuses pour le traitement de diverses affections touchant les tissus osseux, comme l'ostéoporose, la maladie osseuse de Paget, l'ostéopétrose, les parodontopathies et les fractures, et pour le traitement d'anomalies osseuses, par l'administration de FGF-1 à des animaux ou à des sujets humains chez qui un tel traitement est nécessaire.
