A control system (20) to dynamically control the operation of a machine (10), in particular a vehicle, using information obtained from a remote entity (230) eg via the internet includes a controller (18) configured to determine a position of the machine using for example a GPS-receiver. The controller is configured to query the remote entity for information related to the position of the machine. The queried information may include environmental data such as local temperature and pressure, speed limit information, topographic information, or governmental regulations. The controller may also be configured to automatically control at least one operation of the machine based on the information receive from the remote entity. The controlled operation may be the engine speed limit, fuel-to-air ratio setting, regeneration of an exhaust element.
L'invention concerne un système de commande (20) destiné à commander de façon dynamique les opérations d'une machine (10) et notamment d'un véhicule sur la base des informations obtenues d'une unité distante (230), par exemple via l'Internet; il comprend un contrôleur (18) configuré pour déterminer une position d'une machine, par exemple, au moyen d'un récepteur GPS. Le contrôleur est configuré pour demander à l'unité distante des informations relatives à la position de la machine. Les informations demandées peuvent comprendre des données d'environnement telles que la température et la pression locales, la vitesse maximale autorisée, les informations topographiques ou les règles administratives. Le contrôleur peut aussi être configuré pour commander automatiquement au moins une opération d'une machine sur la base des informations reçues de l'unité distante. L'opération commandée peut être la vitesse maximale autorisée pour ce moteur, le réglage du rapport carburant /air ou la régénération d'un élément d'échappement.
