An electropipettor for introducing materials into a microfluidic system to which it is fluidly connected includes a capillary channel having an end for contacting at least one source of the materials, and a voltage source for applying a voltage between the one source of the materials and a second electrode in the microfluidic system when the capillary channel end contacts the one source of the materials such that material from the one source is electrokinetically introduced into the electropipettor toward the microfluidic system.
